Under this leadership style, tasks are accomplished through fear and penalties. This style is characterized by “Do what I say” and “obey before complain”.

Disadvantages of this Style are;

§  Subordinates have no satisfaction
§  It does not allow consultation with subordinates.
Democratic Style this style is characterized by “Let us agree on what we are to do". In this leadership style, subordinates are regarded as equals with the leaders. There is no class division. The leader gives room for consultation with subordinates in planning and decision-making for organization.

Advantages of this style are;


§  The style allows freedom for initiative
§  It makes for cooperative spirit in the organization.
§  It allows employees to develop leadership ability.
§  It allows for employees' participation in management.
§  It helps workers to take initiative
§  It helps workers to become more responsible and committed to work.
Anarchic In this leadership style, the subordinates do what they like, It is characterized by “do what you like". The leader depends on the employees to take their own decision leader does not give any sense of direction to the subordinates. The leader assumes the role of other group members, This style, organizational objectives will be difficult to achieve. Subordinates will take the leader for a ride.
